Privacy Summary: CueLoom is designed with a strict offline/local-first architecture. All your scripts, segments, and prompting preferences are saved strictly in your device's private local storage. We do NOT collect, transmit, or share your scripts with external servers.
1. Information We Process
CueLoom operates with a local-first architecture and optional Google account sign-in:
- Scripts and Content: All scripts, text paragraphs, and speed parameters are stored locally on your device in an Android Room SQLite database. If you sign in with a Google account and use cloud synchronization, your scripts are securely transmitted over HTTPS (TLS) to our cloud database tied strictly to your account.
- Optional Google Account Sign-In: Core teleprompter features work without login. If you choose to sign in via Google Credential Manager, we receive your Google Account ID, email address, display name, and profile avatar URL solely to authenticate your session and isolate your account data.
- No Tracking or Analytics: The application does NOT integrate third-party advertising SDKs, behavioural trackers, or marketing analytics.
2. Device Permissions and Usage
To deliver smooth prompting capabilities, CueLoom requests the following specific permissions only when needed:
- Overlay Window (
android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Required to display the floating teleprompter window over third-party camera apps, live streaming apps, or meeting software while you record. - Camera (
android.permission.CAMERA): Optional permission used strictly to render a live front/rear camera preview behind the teleprompter text on your screen. CueLoom does not record, store, or upload any camera video or images. - Bluetooth (
BLUETOOTH_CONNECT/BLUETOOTH_SCAN): Optional permission used strictly to connect Bluetooth remote controllers or dual-device teleprompter remotes for play/pause and speed adjustments. Never used for location tracking. - Foreground Service (
android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE): Required to maintain uninterrupted script scrolling, timer ticks, and floating controls when the teleprompter runs on top of other applications. - Notifications (
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used strictly to provide a persistent media-style notification banner in your notification shade for quick Play, Pause, and Exit controls while floating. No marketing notifications are sent. - Storage Access Framework (SAF): When you explicitly import or export
.txtscripts, Android's system document picker is invoked. We do NOT access, scan, or index your private photos, media, or other documents.
3. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information. CueLoom contains zero third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
4. Account & Data Deletion (Google Play Account Deletion Policy)
You have full autonomy over your account and data at all times:
- In-App Instant Account Deletion: Open CueLoom → go to Settings → under the Account section, tap Delete Account and confirm. This immediately and permanently deletes your CueLoom account, profile, sessions, and all cloud-synced scripts from our servers (
DELETE /v1/me). - Web / Email Account Deletion Request: If you have already uninstalled the app, you may request permanent account and data deletion by emailing contact@cueloom.dev from your registered Google email address. Requests are processed within 48 hours.
- Local Data Deletion: You may delete any individual script inside the app, or clear app storage / uninstall CueLoom to immediately erase all local scripts and preferences on your device.
5. Children's Privacy
CueLoom does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. The app is a general-purpose productivity utility intended for creators of all ages.
6. Security
Your local data is safeguarded by Android's application sandbox architecture, preventing other applications from accessing CueLoom's internal storage.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be published here with an updated effective date.
